C6 CAGS-SKIP FAQs/TROUBLESHOOTINGQ. How does this differ from the eliminators installed at the transmission? A. All C6 skip shift elimination devices work on a similar principle. Transmission based eliminators require lifting your Corvette for installation, and remain exposed to the external environment beneath your car. Should you ever choose to remove this type of device, as some owners prefer to do prior to vehicle servicing, you will need to raise your car to access the connector. If your removal was temporary, you will need to lift your Corvette yet again to reinstall a transmission based eliminator. Our C6 CAGS-SKIP shift eliminator installs by simply replacing one fuse in the underhood fuse panel, and can be repeatedly installed and removed in virtually seconds. Either the CAGS-SKIP or the original fuse can be safely stored in one of the spare fuse slots in the underhood panel, ready to be changed at a moment's notice.
A. NO! We start with a 10 amp fuse, and internally attach a component using a combination of both rigid and flexible electrically conductive materials. We then inject a durable epoxy into the fuse body to protect the assembly and help ensure the longest possible service life.
A. Unfortunately, no. GM changed the method of illuminating the 1-4 shift light in C6s. So, unlike C5s, where that can be done, there is currently no easy way to prevent the C6 shift light from illuminating. |
